Description: In this project, 8HP Solar Pumps with Drip Irrigation Systems have been installed in both Jharkhand & Maharashtra. The farmers are becoming well-equipped with irrigation systems to replace the dependence on the grid to generate extra revenue. In this project, a solar pump-powered drip irrigation system is employed, which provides drip irrigation onto 25 acres of land in Jharkhand. This has helped the farmers cultivate more cash crops than just one crop throughout the year, thereby increasing their income from INR 30,000 – 40,000 to INR 1 Lakh. The system is highly beneficial for the farmers as it has cut down on the irregularity of the water supply, which could previously hamper the process of hassle-free farming.

Type of Project: Community Irrigation
Location: Jharkhand, Maharashtra
Description: The main focus of this project was to create farming practices in which the farmers are independent in both energy sources and crop production. The basic principle of this project is to provide water for irrigation to a group of farmers through solar pumps on a rotation basis to increase the yield and cycles of crops. These pumps take the water from the water source and deliver it to the multiple farming lands via distributed pipelining, while also providing storage facilities for the water pumped, for days of low sun intensity.
Type of Project: Lift Irrigation
Location: Leh, Hirve
Description: This project was carried out in a village in Maharashtra, wherein farmers had a combined landholding of 25 acres on 2 adjacent hills, which were 80 meters above a stream – their only source of water. Through the CSR funds from Siemens and with the help of our NGO partners we were able to provide 25000 liters of water per hour to the farmers by way of lift irrigation by installing a solar pump that pumped water from the stream to the 2 farmlands located on the hills.
Type of Project: Flood Irrigation
Location: Jharkhand, CINI
Description: In this project, solar pumps have been installed that help transport water from a nearby water source to farmlands in which crops like rice and paddy, which require flood irrigation, are cultivated.
Type of Project: Sprinkler Irrigation
Location: Multiple locations in Rajasthan

Type of Project: Solar-powered RO with drinking water ATMs
Location: Multiple locations in WB
Description: Nimbus Solar Solutions provides 7.5kw systems with battery backup for solar powered drinking water ATMs at various locations in West Bengal. This project constitutes a solar-run water treatment plant with hygienic sanitation units. An RO filtration system is used to purify the water, and the run-off water of the filtration process is used in the sanitation units. The beneficiaries are given an automated water RFID card to swipe at these water ATMs to obtain 10 litres of pure drinking water per day. Nimbus has developed this project to ensure access to cheaper and pure drinking water for the commoners. The project harnesses solar power the right way for a better future for the country and eventually reduces water shortages in several areas.
Type of Project: Community water taps
Location: Maithon, Jharkhand
Description: This project has received an overwhelming response and is one of our most popular projects. The installation of one such system in the middle of a village provides water for personal consumption to an entire community. Added features such as a water level indicator and a soak pit (to ensure no wastage of water) are unique attributes of this system.
Several such units have been installed in association with TPCDT (Tata Power Community Development Trust) in the state of Jharkhand as part of a CSR project for Maithon Power Limited.
Type of Project: Rural drinking water schemes
Location: Dumka, Jharkhand
Description: This project has been executed by Nimbus Solar Solutions as a part of the World Bank Scheme and the ‘Har Ghar Nal Yojna’ scheme. The project revolves around installing 1HP to 12.5HP solar pumps at various locations in Jharkhand and Odisha. The World Bank Scheme functions on improving sustainable water supply and sanitation services to develop human capital and maximise the growth potential of rural areas. In this project, water is pumped from a bore well to a storage tank, which is then distributed through pipelines into each household of a village. This project launched by Nimbus Solar Solutions has been very well received and is functional in over 170 sites in Jharkhand and Odisha.
Type of Project: Rural water transportation
Location: Dadarkopra, Maharashtra and Odisha
Description: Nimbus Solar Solutions has established a project for easy and sustainable rural water transportation in Maharashtra and Odisha. The installation of 1HP to 7.5 HP Solar Pumps would assure that the different areas at higher altitudes or remote areas can transport water seamlessly from various sources. Both Maharashtra and Odisha are industrial and agricultural hubs of the country, with rising demand for water throughout all seasons. Nimbus Solar Solutions has come up with these systems that use solar pumps to transport water from different sources over a distance or to a height. These solar pumps can solve water shortage in hilly areas that are at altitudes as high as 200m and situated at distances as much as 2Kms from the water source.
Type of Project: Water lifting
Location: Dhamodi, Maharashtra
Description: For the small tribal community living in Dhamodi, the Tapi river was the only source of water, located at a distance of 5km and a depth of 350 mts, thus making manual water transportation a very tedious process. Nimbus, in association with Diganta Swaraj Foundation (NGO) and ASB International Pvt Ltd. (Japan), designed and executed a 3-stage solar-powered water lifting system, along with a complex pipelining network and water filtration system, to help provide 24/7 water supply to more than 250 families, spread over all the hamlets of Dhamodi.
